Quote of the Day
We are more ready to try the untried when what we do is inconsequential. Hence the fact that many inventions had their birth as toys.
- Eric Hoffer
Business uses of iPod

"That belongs to my kid."

Well, I admit it, it’s mine. It is one of those teen-age “must-have” electronic accoutrements, an iPod.

And it’s not for kids, anymore. If you’ve checked out the hand-held pocket appliances lately, you’ll see a convergence. The cell phone takes pictures and has video games. The Palm Pilot not only dials phone numbers but holds whole e-books and photos. Besides music, my iPod stores audio books and is essential for podcasting. (More about podcasting here.)

Now, it’s an efficient tape recorder thanks to this cool device.. Perfect for podcasting, interviews and voice recognition dictation.

The key is storage. As electronic storage media become smaller and cheaper, more can be done with a handheld instrument. With a few tweaks my iPod could be a cell-phone/PDA/DVD player. I can hardly wait.
